In this week's Basketball Recruiting Roundup, get the scoop on commitments from Top 100 recruits Chris Douglas-Roberts, Danny Green, Cyrus McGowan and more.

As September winds to a close, the hoop commitments are starting to come fast and furious as players look to get their decisions made before the beginning of the basketball season.

The highest-rated player on the SchoolSports Top 100 to commit this past week was Detroit Northwestern (Mich.) combo guard Chris Douglas-Roberts, who committed to Memphis over Arizona and Miami.

The 6-foot-4, 170-pound senior is rated the No. 19 recruit in the Class of 2005.

Douglas-Roberts, who transferred to Northwestern from Cass Tech (Mich.) this summer, is a long, athletic player with the talent to play both guard positions. He has a good shooting stroke that extends to 3-point range, but he is most effective using his quickness to drive to the hoop.

His abilities as a high-scoring guard should make him a perfect fit under Memphis coach John Calipari. As a junior last season, Douglas-Roberts averaged 32 points per game to go along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Green Machine

The University of North Carolina is quietly putting together a stellar recruiting class. Though the Tar Heels' commitments thus far may not be flashy, they have already landed four Top 50 recruits.

The latest UNC commitment is St. Mary's (N.Y.) senior shooting guard Danny Green, who pledged to the Heels last Friday over Pittsburgh. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound swingman is rated the No. 45 recruit in the Class of 2005 by SchoolSports.com.

Green, who averaged 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five blocks per game as a junior, is one of those all-around players who won't blow you away but does all the little things and fills the stat sheet.

Green joins a recruiting class that also includes Poplar Bluff (Mo.) power forward Tyler Hansbrough, Brother Rice (Ill.) combo guard Bobby Frasor and Bishop O'Connell (Va.) swingman Marcus Ginyard.
